MY FAMILY

MY FAMILY TREE IS KNOWN TO ME AND IS PRECIOUS IN MY EYE, I SEE THE BRANCHES FULL OF FRUIT, GROWING HIGH INTO THE SKY,

THE APPLES OF MY EYE, THEY ARE FULL OF LIFE AND JOY, THEY ARE MADE OF A SPECIAL SUBSTANCE THAT ONLY THEIR BELOVED CAN ENJOY.,

THE MOST HIGH, GAVE THEM BREATH, LIFE AND LOVE, I PRAY THAT HE ALWAYS CARE FOR THEM, FROM HIS GLORY UP ABOVE,

WHENEVER I FEEL WEARY AND UNABLE TO TILL THE GROUND, THE LOVE THAT IS IN MY FAMILY HAS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUND,

MY FAMILY TREE IS KNOWN TO ME, ALTHOUGH WE ARE NOT IN HIS GARDEN NOW, THE ROAD TO ZION IS PAVED WITH SEEDS, THAT WILL GROW BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS;

THE ROOTS WERE PLANTED LONG AGO, THAT MAKES OUR TREE SO STRONG, THE RIVERS WATER RUNS REAL DEEP, WHICH MOVES OUR SEEDS ALONG, THE SEASON OF THE HARVEST IS SOON AT HAND, SO LIFT YOUR VOICE AND SHOW YOUR LOVE AND FOLLOW HIS COMMAND…

BRADS OCTOBER BEAT

THIS IS DEPRESSING ME

I recently asked my daughter what are you concerned about? I wanted to know what was of interest or concern to a teenager these days. I also needed a story idea. She stated that she was concerned about the depression. She stated that the price for everything has went up. She mentioned all the important things that matter to teens; pizza, soda and gum are up. Prices are up 17 to 25% higher in cities across America for food prices and 5% for all products nationally. This may be a blessing in disguise as prices rising for “junk food” pizzas, burgers and the like. People may turn to healthy alternatives such as fruits and salads.

The increase in fuel prices were responsible for the rise in these prices and may level off due to downward trends recently in gas prices. At times it’s easy to forget that our children are as in tune with the politics and economy of this society as we adults ‘should be’. I believe they are more astute then us on many occasions. We need to keep ourselves clued in as much as possible, when they are concerned. We must remember that they will inherit this society and need to address the issues as they see it.

WHAT’S YOUR ISSUE?

What’s your number one issue or concern? Let me know what’s bugging you and what you want to do about it. I will list the top ten issues and give the best responses needed to fix the problem. So get to it, I know that you have a lot on your mind.

TAKING MY ADVICE

So whose advice are you taking in the decisions you making? There are some important choices for you to make in the near future. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has recently endorsed Sen. Obama for President. Former First Lady, Nancy Regan has endorsed Sen. McCain. Wall Street observers have indicated that you invest in this buyers market and take advantage of major sell offs. Real Estate brokers are suggesting that you buy now and acquire property that is way below market prices. What do you do?

My advice is that you do your own research. Now more than ever is the time to educate your self about the issues that matter. People are often taken aback when they rely on the counsel of others, and find that those assurances were not worthy of their assets.
Whatever, decision you make, be sure you are ready to live with them. Give them the time and attention that is needed for a successful outcome.

TIME FOR A POEM

It’s time for a new beginning and a break from the past,
Or at least all those things, that I don’t want to last,
It’s time for a feeling that I want to endure,
Instead of the uncertainty, and lost of allure,

It’s time for a Change, My feelings have said,
No more of these aches, pains, and dreads,
Its time for a feeling, that captures my heart,
The hour has come, the counting has start.

HOW DO YOU HAVE FUN?

That's a question which has a million answers. However, I believe some people really know how to have fun, and some are just kidding themselves. I had fun this weekend reuniting with some old friends, and playing some games. What have you been doing?
How do you have fun? Let me know how to get some fun back into those down days?

MID-LIFE CRISIS

A MID-LIFE CRISIS

So are you having yours? Have you already had it? Or do you feel one coming on?
I have answered affirmative to all three already. My dilemma is what to do about it. There seems to be many response’s to it. These were a few of my initial thoughts. First, ask my wife, why? The questions are too numerous to list here. I don’t have that much time or patience. The second question arose when thinking of my children. Why? OK! You’re starting to get the picture. A mid-life crisis was diagnosis. So now the question is asked, what do you do? I decided to paint, create many home projects and use my hammer to tap away the frustrations.

Many people have chosen some remarkably unsound choices when facing these times. Some decide to return to their youth and take it back to the streets. However, I decided that the clubbing and weekend warrior activities were not for me. Some engage in affairs of the heart. However, they soon find that the roaring flame that once burned in their heart has begun to flicker. So again you ask why? Why aren’t you in that place you envisioned when starting your career? Why don’t the passion burn between me and my spouse still. Well, I decided that the answers are not in the stars, but somewhere inside of me.

I am coming to realize that it is my crisis, and that I am the one who must resolve it.
I believe it may be somewhere in my next visit to the Home Depot. I plan to look for it in either a shade of lamp blue paint or a space saver. What do you think?

THE ECONOMY

THE ECONOMY: HOW ARE YOU LIVING?

What do you think about the state of our economy, and what do you think about its future. People are now cutting corners and doing whatever is necessary to get by. Many are securing second jobs, as well as rethinking vacations, home improvements and sending their children to college. Is the American dream becoming a nightmare? Is there still an opportunity for you to become a home owner with the white picket fence?

Unfortunately, many do not have the answer. The presidential candidates have plans for fixing the problem. The question is will they work? The McCain theory seems to center on giving money to the wealthy and they will create jobs. The Obama plan is let government create large public works projects and rebuild infrastructure. The question still remains, will the plans correct our struggling economy.

There is a lot on the line. People are wondering if their 401K is secure. People are questioning if they are next in line to face foreclosure on their homes. What is the answer that solves this national dilemma? Presently, there is action being considered by the G7 and G20 who have recently convened and discussed how the worlds markets are going to react to these problems. Is their a concerted plan of action? Only time will tell if things are getting better. Hopefully, you will have a positive response as the economy runs it course.
